Were almost ready to open and super excited to now expand:

• Training of established tradespeople, apprentices, school and further education in all the renewable technologies

• Community engagement with local schools and community groups in all aspects of the renewable energy and sustainable agriculture and living.

• Meeting, training, and lecture facilities for a wide range of green groups and businesses

As in the past , bonefide green groups , schools and community groups still get free or subsidised use

A great new take on a training and meeting space:

Its based on enviromentals company ethos, and reason to be: “to help us all move towards a sustainable planet and sustainable lifestyle” Although equipped with state off the art facilities for training, lectures, and meetings, its green ethos makes it much more than a standard corporate venue:

Set at the head of Yorkshires of Colne Valley, with, superb long distance views, through panoramic windows of the Pennine Moors, the centre is an Ecobuild, powered and showcasing the best of renewable energy - from wind turbines, solar thermal and Photovoltaic, heat pumps and biomass. Even battery storage and EV charging for visitors electric cars

Our catering is also a fresh take: From sustainably sourced ingredient, including vegetarian and vegan, often from our own smallholding, otherwise from the local community Green Valley Grocer. You’ll smell the bread freshly baked from the Handmade Bakery in the village and locally roasted fresh coffee from Dark woods coffee below. But its way more, we embrace the best of British agriculture’s diversification to low carbon production: Superb low carbon , grass sequested, local beef, lamb, pork, chicken and milk from our partners on the the farms around…Not only can you still get your Bacon Butty, Pork Pie, and full fat milk hit, but its likely to be the best you ever taste, have less carbon than shop brought Avocados and Soya milk, and to work it off, walk the farmland and beautiful local footpaths - Beware, you’ll likely meet the real farmers who grow your food!

Green Transport …

Although less than 5 Minutes from J24 on the M62 our school, community (Scout groups, etc), normally catch the train to Slaithwaite ( 5 Mins from Huddersdield, 25 minutes from Manchester and Leeds) and walk up the hill to the centre. We would encourage that as the walk is fab and the mind fresh on arrival!

We are however happy to pick visitors up from the station in our EV and they can if they want then do the easier walk back down at the end of the session.

If you do decide to come by car there is ample parking and EV charging points too.

The venue with a difference:

We also interweave traditional training with a dynamic approach to maximise efficiency and enjoyment. Walking to us leaves the mind fresh to start the day , but if you timetable in free time, which we encourage, there are great walks around, (were very close to the Pennine Way and Bridleway and Tunnel end Canal centre and towpath) we have bikes you can borrow, electric bikes for hire, and in conjunction with local wellness centre on site Yoga, Pilates, Sauna, and for the brave Hot Yoga, or Wild swimming can all be timetabled in for a unique training day.

If you fancy staying for more than a day we have a range of local accommodation we can recommend. The world famous Marsden Jazz festival takes place in the village below and theirs no lack of other Music, Art and Culture to keep you occupied
